General Counsel and Head of Growth join Maple
Proud to welcome Katherine Kirkpatrick as General Counsel and Quinn Thompson as Head of Growth to supercharge our commercial operations.
Katherine Kirkpatrick joins Maple from King & Spalding, where she was a partner in the firm’s Government Matters practice and co-chair of both the Financial Services and Fintech, Blockchain, and Cryptocurrency groups.
In the private sector, Katherine represented entities both in and outside of the crypto world in government and internal investigations, corporate compliance, and regulatory matters. Katherine is a frequent writer and speaker on anti-money laundering, crypto and blockchain related compliance.

Katherine will oversee all legal aspects of Maple’s operations.

The legal solutions Katherine develops will support the entry of new multi-billion dollar asset managers to Maple’s ecosystem,” said Sid Powell, Maple’s CEO and Co-Founder.
Growth is our focus in 2022. Growing the number of pools, expanding the depth of our product offering, and ultimately increasing liquidity provided and total loans originated. We hope to achieve $2bn in liquidity by June 2022 and $5bn by the end of the year. Quinn Thompson joins as Head of Growth, to spearhead strategic initiatives, entry into untapped markets and ultimately drive Maple across that lofty goal.
Quinn joins Maple from Abra, where he was Head of Credit and Lending, overseeing the company’s digital asset loan book and other yield strategies. He will spend time across functions from product to sales helping launch new business lines and features such as lending to crypto miners as well as furthering Maple’s integration with TradFi and Wall Street institutions.
